The Smell of Spring

The smell of Spring clings to the air. Birds migrating back sing songs in morning light. Spring frogs serenade the night. Trees grow new leaves. Green grass, and rolling meadows. Wildflowers bursting colors yellows, blues, greens, and purples. Gentle rains, and rolling thunder. The smell of Spring’s fresh rain, and earthy notes float across the cool breeze. In the woods fawns huddle close to mother, Squirrels scurry, bears venture out to find sweet berries. The smell of Spring hangs on February’s breeze reminding me Spring is just around the corner.

  1. Love it! I was just thinking about the same thing, in a slightly different way. There’s so much anticipation for Spring’s arrival. Excellent description, Jamie.

      1. You’re welcome. Ah, wish we had 50s and 60s here but it’s hardly in the right geographic region πŸ™‚ Enjoy it while you have it!! πŸ™‚

      2. It’s been hovering around 20F these past few days. We are expecting a mix of freezing rain and snow this weekend. Yay πŸ™‚

      3. Yes, the polar vortex. I think we can expect more of those. The coldest we’ve had it here (in my area) this winter (so far) is -1F and -18F with windchill – not quite sun bathing temperatures πŸ™‚
