Death/Life

I’ve stared death in the eyes. Felt its icy cold breath on the back of my neck. I’ve seen it come suddenly, and take with no remorse.

I’ve seen life blossom and bloom. I’ve seen new life breathed into this world. I’ve seen it in the eyes of a new born child. Heard it in the laughter of life’s joyous moments. I’ve felt its warm embrace.

This world may take but it also gives. With every loss there’s so much more to be gained. For every dark hour there’s a sunny day which lies ahead.
