Well Read

A book shipped from Dorchester county, the pages yellowed with age. The cover tattered. Of Mice and Men the title read. Now it’s sitting on my kitchen table. I wonder how many hands its passed through. One things for certain, its been well read.

The Smell of Spring

The smell of Spring clings to the air. Birds migrating back sing songs in morning light. Spring frogs serenade the night. Trees grow new leaves. Green grass, and rolling meadows. Wildflowers bursting colors yellows, blues, greens, and purples. Gentle rains, and rolling thunder. The smell of Spring’s fresh rain, and earthy notes float across the cool breeze. In the woods fawns huddle close to mother, Squirrels scurry, bears venture out to find sweet berries. The smell of Spring hangs on February’s breeze reminding me Spring is just around the corner.
